Really quick post this time– been working on quite a bit, haven’t had time to do any proper writeups but there should be lots coming in the next few weeks!
Was working on an interface test and came up with this 3d scrolling wheel, which I was using it to demonstrate scrolling through a list of contacts/profiles.
The text is done via Text Animation, and the side-circles are using 3d Stroke. If you don’t have the 3d Stroke plugin, don’t worry– just disable the layer and you’ll get the same effect but without the circles.
The text doesn’t actually rotate, just scrolls the entire column through the alphabet, simulating stepped rotation.
Download link below. Play with the already-open slider to offset the ‘current’ letter. A = 0, B = 1, C = 2 .. Z = 25. It loops, too, if you’re into that sort of thing.
This AEP uses Trapcode 3d Stroke. It’s not required, but it adds flair.
